His Life’s Purpose

Never wavering from the calling he received as a young man, Dr. Sala declared the good news of Jesus by holding out the life-giving truth of God’s Word, the Bible, simply and clearly. In His words,

“There has been one purpose and goal of my life and that is to see men and women come to know Jesus Christ as Savior.”

Dr. Sala shared what he called The ABCs of the Free Gift of Eternal Life.

How can I have the free gift of eternal life?

To receive this gift, you need to do three simple things:

A

Acknowledge

Acknowledge your need for a Savior. All have sinned, God says in the Bible book of Romans: “The wages of sin (the penalty of sin) is death” (Romans 3:23). But the Bible also explains, “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:21, NLT). While many think of sin as an assortment of overt acts, it is the attitude of rebellion against God that puts distance between ourselves and Him.

B

Believe

The second step in the process is to simply ask His forgiveness and believe that God will forgive you and receive you as His son or daughter. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31), Paul told a jailer at Philippi.

C

Confess

Then you need to confess Christ as your Lord and Savior. This means that you don’t keep your decision a secret. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved…For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:9,13). Salvation is God’s free gift. It’s yours. Take it with faith – today!
